Current Mood?

I’m happily making my way through my pregnancy and I’m excited for lower temperatures (I’m so ready for fall!). The heat has been driving me crazy! I’ve been escaping from the heat by focusing on projects at home, and work is still keeping me busy as we approach the fall season. I had a work event yesterday that I organized/created, called “Come Tailgate With Us: Fashion & Food Touches Down”, to celebrate Fall 2018 fashion, food, and special promotions at The Promenade at Sagemore in Marlton, New Jersey. If you live in the area, shop & sip with us at The Promenade this fall!

For anyone who doesn’t know, I’m a lover of astrology/zodiac signs and I take my horoscope very seriously! It has never failed me. I have found extreme comfort and even inspiration in reading my horoscope weekly and simply knowing my astrological background has been helpful. I’m a Scorpio and very true to my sign (passionate and mysterious), but I also have a lot of Sagittarius in my chart (adventurous, optimistic, and spiritual). Knowing your astrological background may help you find love, balance an existing love, or simply amaze you regarding why you’re so happy (or unhappy) with who you’re currently with! Signs aren’t always compatible. Scorpio’s are incredibly fierce, protective, and loyal. It’s ride or die with a Scorpio; Andrew (my boyfriend) in the astrological world (and in mine) is my perfect match and we balance each other out, inspire one another, and because of our personalities (and signs) we have an intense connection, with real trust. Discover a little bit about your astrological background this month! I promise, it’s helpful and interesting and you’ll never be bored again.

This month, love finally moves forward again after three eclipses, and Mars and Mercury were in retrograde (what an intense year for astrological/love forces). For those who aren’t familiar with the power of the skies when it comes to astrology, any shift in the sky (such as an eclipse) can affect your love life and your emotions. Yes, it sounds crazy, but remember that old expression about a full moon night? When the moon is full, emotions tend to be heightened and crazy experiences have been known to happen. Even werewolves transform beneath a full moon! Passion is on the horizon for many this month, with Venus moving into Scorpio (my sign) on September 9. Remember, Scorpio is a sultry and mysterious sign, so this move means you’ll be more expressive towards the one you love, and the motivation for following your heart will be strong. If you’re single and ready for a new season, with a fresh romance September is the month to make it happen.

If you’re like me and hate the heat, doing projects inside is one way to wait out this record-breaking heat wave. Stay calm and cool this week! Making the most out of small spaces is super in right now, for fall 2018 and among my generation; transforming your current space is a creative way to hide-out inside and remain productive. Create a reading/writing space with a fall theme, in a small nook. Add accents such as burgundy pillows, candles with an autumn scent, lanterns with LED candles for mood lighting, etc.. Or, create an area to do yoga and meditate in order to remain calm through school, work, relationships, and the upcoming season. Invent a beautiful, functional space on a budget. You don’t need to spend a ton of money just to reinvent a space into somewhere you wish to spend loads of time. Sometimes, all an area requires is a new rug, or lamp (Marshalls, Target, and a fresh coat of paint. Cleaning and getting rid of unwanted items also creates a clean, refreshed palette. Say goodbye to crap you haven’t used or noticed in over a year! You can wait on buying new furniture and décor, but ensure that your desired area is clean and organized.

What’s fun for Fall 2018? Spend some time exploring museums and exhibits. Piece together an awesome, beautiful outfit and head into the city (Philly, New York). I’ve already planned for an October fashion exhibit with my mom, and as a fashion/design enthusiast I live for these sorts of outings. Exploit your passions and creativity this fall; for example, if you’re passionate about photography or art, take a class and wander around a museum. Get lost in literature and photographs instead of wasting hours on the internet, or watching TV. While you’re out and about discover a new coffee shop, or get lunch at a cool spot you’re not usually able to enjoy. Fall is a wonderful time to eat outdoors and to try something new…

Halloween will be here before you know it, but it’s too soon to drape your house in ghouls and cobwebs (sorry)! Decorating during the early days of fall should be pretty and simplistic…mums are a beautiful and easy way to spice up a home. When shopping for mums, buy varying colors and remember to water them! If you have the time or space, you can even plant the mums you buy. I love mixing mums, hay, and lanterns together for a true autumn experience. This year, I have decided to be as simplistic as I possibly can (despite my immense love for glitter and décor) when it comes to decorating and the holidays, because there’s a lot going on in my life…I’m a busy bee and I need to take a breath this fall and enjoy every moment. Words to live by…days go by fast, seasons are fleeting, and life is fragile. Spend less time worrying and more time appreciating.*

Fashion Week in NYC and football kicked off this week and fall is heading our way…whether you’re shopping like crazy, or you’re immersed in the football season, it’s our favorite time of year again!

I’m wishing everyone a fun, adventurous week…
