Get Inspired

Hi mamas!

I want to share my favorite stores to shop for Greyson, provide some inspiration for decorating a nursery, and promote my favorite baby products.

Greyson’s nursery is so light, beautiful, and cozy. I truly love sitting in there and I often do my yoga in his nursery, because it’s quiet and there are little distractions. I designed a room that can transition as he grows and a space that is adult friendly. I chose pieces and colors for his nursery that can last him through his childhood years. My issue with many nurseries is that the room is actually too babyish. Yes, you’re creating a place for your baby, but babies grow incredibly fast, so you want the space to be childlike, but with mature elements. You also want a space that you yourself wouldn’t mind spending time in since you’ll want to play with your child and hang out in there. Buy a rocker or a glider that can double as a normal seating feature as your child grows. Stay away from the bright pink, or bright blue walls (you won’t have to repaint as quickly if the colors are more subtle). Instead of painting dinosaurs, pirates, or nursery accents on the wall, use decals that can easily be removed. Also, it helps to pick a theme that a growing child can enjoy and relate to. Princesses and puppies fade away faster than you’d think, mamas. I also believe that if a child grows up surrounded by inspiration, beauty, and cleanliness that they will learn to appreciate a clean, well-designed space. I used to love organizing and designing my room as a young girl and that trait stayed with me. You are what you surround yourself with.

Greyson’s nursery has a woodland theme (foxes, deer, wood, etc.), with rustic accents, but also a few modern features. I used subtle blues, grey, and white throughout the nursery.

  • The beautiful llama is from Pottery Barn Kids.
  • The glider, lamp, and rug are from
  • The matte frames and fox basket are from Target.

I shop at Target the most for Greyson’s clothing because there are super cute options available and they’re constantly updating their inventory. The clothes aren’t cheap but they’re affordable. Cloud Island is one of my favorite brands, especially for essentials such as onesies. Amazon also has adorable baby clothing! Prices are always fair on Amazon and delivery is instant, which is great if you’re shopping for an event or special occasion.

The fox crib sheet is from Target along with the fox themed outfit. We love our foxes so we always look out for anything fox themed.

What are some of my favorite, daily baby essentials?

  • Huggies Snug & Dry
  • Sposie booster pads for diapers (helps to prevent leaks during naps, bedtime, and car rides)
  • Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Shampoo & Wash
  • Enfamil ProSobee Soy Infant Formula Powder

I’ve bought Greyson so many books already from Barnes & Noble, toys from Amazon, Target, Barnes & Noble, & other boutique toy stores that he will enjoy as he grows. I love Jellycat stuffed animals and he has a few! I’m always falling in love with essentials and more for Greyson, but remember mamas…what your baby needs more than anything is your love and attention. Make each day beautiful, fun, and special.

Have fun with your babies space! It should be a room where you can laugh, play, and relax.

Greyson’s Letter

Dear Grey,

I was so tired this weekend and yesterday, but your smile and personality lights me up and inspires me. You give me the strength I need to keep going and you remind me of what’s really important. You’re laughing and trying to talk every day, which is amazing. This is the only time in your life when you look up at me and daddy with nothing but awe and innocence and it’s the best feeling in the world. We are your everything and you are our entire life.

The best job in the world is being your mama. Sometimes I think back to my days in fashion retail and yes, I miss it, but nothing compares to caring for you and spending my days with you, always know that. Some mamas may feel as though they gave a lot up to become a parent, but this was always where I was meant to be…with you. I can’t wait for you to discover more. The books you’ll read, the toys you’ll play with, the adventures you’ll go on, and the faces you’ll meet will make each day special. As we near your four month mark I feel excited for the days ahead, but I also cannot believe you’re already four months old. I feel as though just yesterday I told your daddy I was pregnant and I felt every emotion in the book, but here we are now and I wouldn’t change a thing. Keep on smiling, laughing, and learning my honey bee.

I love you always, forever, and no matter what.

I also worked in the fashion/marketing industry from age sixteen until becoming a mama at age twenty-three, which drives my passion for fashion, design, and creativity. I published a book (Deployed) that I wrote while I was still in high school dealing with boys, tears, parties, and gossip and I blossomed into a blogger and a more developed writer. I don't blog to impress...I blog to inspire. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm always here. Xo Instagram: lizziemognoni Email:
