Happy Mother’s Day

I woke up this morning and walked out onto our deck, soaking in the warmth of the sunshine. I breathed in my favorite day of the week and waited for my guys. Andrew walked into our living room with Greyson, who was pulling a little red wagon planter filled with presents. I held back tears of joy as I looked at my son’s beaming smile and I took a moment to thank the universe for giving me the greatest gift of all…Greyson.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mamas. We are strong, amazing, and we have the hardest and most rewarding job of all. We gave up the bodies we once knew and the quiet, alone time for a new normal. We let go of a past filled with late nights out with friends and endless dates with our significant others for family time and a glass of wine at the end of the day. We gave up our personal space for long hugs and warm cuddles. We gave up so much, mamas for something even better. We didn’t lose anything. We gained everything.

We are no strangers to sleepless nights and stressful moments. Motherhood is filled with smiles, laughter, and tears. Every day is a new adventure and we soak up every second knowing that time goes by so quickly. One day our homes will be quiet once again and our days won’t be as hectic, but we’ll never stop being moms. It’s a job that never ends and will always be celebrated. Mother’s Day isn’t just today…it’s every day. Take a moment today to thank your child for everything they are and everything they bring to your life, because without them life wouldn’t be as colorful or meaningful.

Thank you Greyson for bringing me endless joy and showing me what unconditional love really is. Thank you for continuing to surprise and amaze me and for being the best, sweetest boy in the world. Thank you for making me a mom. I love you always.
